Beer Can Burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 6 slices bacon
  • Italian dressing
  • Yellow mustard
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Sliced cheese

Filling Suggestions:

  • Bell Peppers
  • Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Jalapeños
  • Whatever sounds tasty

 

Directions

  1. Fire up your Po Man. Put grate on top level of rack. While the coals are getting hot, make your burgers.
  2. Season ground meats with salt & pepper (add others to your liking) and a squeeze of yellow mustard and Italian dressing (extra flavor/extra moisture).
  3. Divide meat into 6 portions and roll each into a ball.
  4. Place meat ball on surface and make a well in the center using your favorite can of beer.
  5. Leave your beer (just for a minute!) and wrap a slice of bacon around your newly formed burger patty.
  6. Remove your beer can, take a swig, then fill with whatever sounds tasty (peppers, onions, jalapeños, etc). 
  7. Place a slice of cheese on top. 
  8. Place burgers on grill grate; add lid, leaving about 1/4 inch gap; cook for about 45 minutes.
  9. Add an extra slice of cheese at the end of cooking.
