Ingredients

  • 18-24 Chicken Wings
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Sauce:
    12oz Cheerwine Soda
    5oz Molasses
    1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
    3/4 Cups Brown Sugar
    1 1/4 cups Ketchup
    2 Tsp Raw Honey
    1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
    1/2 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
    1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
2 Tsp Texas Pete Hot Sauce
    1/2 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
    1/2 of a small lime- Squeezed/Juiced

Directions

Combine all sauce ingredients and bring to a low bowl. Stir sauce for the duration that it is on the stove. Be careful not to scorch sauce. Once sauce reaches a slight simmer/boil, turn off heat and allow to cool. Store in a mason Jar.

Bathe wings in yellow mustard as a binder.
Apply garlic powder, Salt and Pepper to wings.
Skewer wings and hang from top level of cooking rack or place on grill grate.
Cover with lid, leaving a small gap, and cook until internal chicken temp is 140 degrees.
Apply Cheerwine sauce at 140 degrees and continue cooking.
Once chicken temp has reached 165 degrees internal, apply another coat of Cheerwine sauce and allow 5 min for sauce to Caramelize on wings.
Pull wings off grill and allow 15-20 minutes to cool/rest.
